Joshua Vazquez, a voice student of CMS teacher Abigail Zuckert, performed the lead role of “Prince Eric” in Lehigh Christian Academy’s production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” The show ran from March 14-16, 2024.
Eric shared that what he enjoyed most about the role of “Prince Eric” was the bravery and perseverance of the character, and he said that “the costumes were pretty cool, too.” He initially auditioned for the role of Sebastian, but “then, I was asked to sing a snippet of Eric’s song, and that’s how it all started!” His favorite song from the show was “One Step Closer,” where Eric finds a way to communicate with the voiceless Ariel through dance. The most challenging part was learning the choreography. He said, “it required a lot of practice, since dancing doesn’t come easily to me.”
