We congratulate piano student Victoria T. for being selected as one of two piano accompanists for the 2023-2024 Berks Junior County Chorus! Victoria is a piano student at our CMS Berks studio at Goggleworks in Reading, PA. She is 13 years old and attends Muhlenberg Junior High School. Victoria is the first student from her school to be selected as an accompanist for BJCC in over 15 years.
The Berks Junior County Chorus includes 175+ student voices and is one of several ensembles organized by the Music Educators of Berks County to further the development of music education in the public schools of Berks County. The BJCC festival will be held at Muhlenberg High School on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 7:30 PM.
Victoria began taking lessons at CMS Berks in the summer of 2022, and her enthusiasm for piano continues to grow. For the BJCC audition, she learned the piece “We Are the Voices” by Jim Papoulis. She thanks her teacher for helping her work out the details and nuances of performing the piece. She also credits this success to the atmosphere of encouragement, excellence, and professionalism at CMS. Victoria accompanied the CMS Kids Choir at our 2023 Holiday Recital, and she said the experience made her feel confident about auditioning for the BJCC accompanist position.
