On January 25, CMS Executive Director Jeff Reed (bottom, left) participated in a virtual discussion with The Presser Foundation regarding its Assistance to Music Teachers program.  As the Foundation seeks to center racial equity in its practices and efforts, the Assistance to Music Teachers Committee is assessing this grantmaking area to determine the best ways to make it more accessible.  The purpose of this discussion was to gain insight and gather feedback from members of community music schools, including CMS, Settlement Music School, The Music School of Delaware, and Trenton Music Makers.  The Assistance to Music Teachers program provides modest financial assistance and/or help with the cost of medical insurance to individuals living in the United States whose primary occupation was as a teacher of music.
