Learn to play the Guitar!

Start strumming (or shake off the rust) with Guitar for Grown-Ups at Community Music School! Under the guidance of CMS teacher and Philadelphia Funk Authority guitarist Andrew Portz, students will learn the basics of guitar playing alongside other adult and older teen beginners. This class will cover tuning, restringing and basic care, finger exercises, open chords, strumming rhythms, short cuts, various strumming techniques, scales, and how to read from notes, TABS, or lyrics sheets.

Students must have a guitar at home to practice between classes.  Learn more about instrument rentals.

Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 PM

(No Class Apr 2, Spring Break)

Ages 16+
Beginners, no experience necessary

Cost

$270 tuition, includes printed lesson materials
+ $25 annual group registration fee

🎸  Instrument Rentals Available
Students must have a guitar to practice between classes. 

📝 Financial Aid Available for students age 18 and younger.
Payment is required to register.  If applying for financial aid, please submit your financial aid application before registering.
