We extend our congratulations to CMS students Sabrina Truong and Samuel Truong on their stellar performances in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Bethlehem Catholic High School. Sabrina portrayed the role of Puck, while Samuel played Tom Snout. The siblings both study voice with Anita DeChellis and piano with Kelly Hooper.
Sabrina shared, “Playing Puck was challenging. I had to be extremely active and crazy for the part, all while reciting lines. For example, I had to army crawl and run laps around the sanctuary/stage. It was difficult knowing how to control my breathing while delivering my lines without speaking too fast. However, it got easier to grasp as I got more into the role of Puck”.
For Samuel, his initial reaction to being cast as Tom Snout was disappointment, since the character portrays a wall in the play-within-a-play. However, the more he rehearsed the role and brought Tom Snout to life, the more he came to love and enjoy the character.
Together, these CMS students represent the remarkable range of talent within our community. Congratulations Sabrina and Samuel, on this exciting accomplishment!
