We are excited to announce that Dr. Matthew Morrow has joined our piano faculty.  Beginning in April, he will be available for in-person private piano lessons in Allentown and piano accompaniment for CMS recitals.

Dr. Morrow holds a Ph.D. & M.A. in Musicology from Eastman School of Music and a B.M. in Piano & Music History from Bucknell University.   He has over 20 years teaching experience (piano, musicology, and music theory), and has presented lectures and recitals at venues across the United States.  His recent recital of Russian music in Bethlehem featured Musorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition as well as shorter works by Tchaikovsky, Scriabin and Prokofiev.

Dr. Morrow has worked with a wide array of students over his career, including kindergarteners, conservatory D.M.A. candidates, middle-aged music lovers, and senior citizens returning to music studies after many years away.  He strives to meet every student at their current level and then tailors a program of study to suit their specific needs, goals and preferences.

In addition to his lifelong passion for classical music, Dr. Morrow loves popular music of all stripes, from punk rock to hip-hop to electronic. He is the pianist and arranger for the duo Living Rarity, and the Music Director, keyboardist, and guitarist for a nine-piece rock band, Jefferson Friendship.
