CMS faculty member Evan William Nelson, baritone and Stephanie Baird, piano will present “Reflections on the Renaissance” featuring works by Ravel, Corigliano, and Ivor Gurney.

About the Artists
About Evan William Nelson, baritone
Evan William Nelson is a member of the CMS piano and voice faculty at our main studio in Allentown and our CMS Berks satellite studio at GoggleWorks. Evan holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance, with a minor in Historical Performance from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied under the tutelage of baritone Randall Scarlata. Hailing from Sinking Spring, PA, he is a text-driven lyric baritone who found an affinity for song early in his career. A prolific operatic performer and teacher, he is committed to fostering a growth mindset in learners of all ages. Read Evan William Nelson’s Full Bio here.
About the Guest Artist: Stephanie Baird, piano
Stephanie Baird is a multi-faceted interdisciplinary keyboard artist and educator who focuses on performance and pedagogy.
With a powerful command of the keyboard and a sensitive touch, Stephanie’s performances are marked by stunning musicality, which exhibits a combination of technical mastery and profound insight. Audiences have described her playing as “sensational,” “colorful” and “remarkably powerful.” Her interpretation comes from her passion for storytelling. Stephanie is equally at home in performing art song, opera, musical theater, and with chamber ensembles.
Stephanie has performed abroad in Italy and Poland, and performs regularly in the Baltimore area. She is a member of the Cerberus Chamber Ensemble, and on the artist roster of Happenstance Theater Company. She teaches at Menchey Music and Patterson Park Academy of Music. Stephanie received her Master of Music in Vocal Accompanying from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Eileen Cornett.
