The CMS Jazz Band welcomes experienced adult and teen musicians, intermediate level and up, on saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bass, guitar, keyboard, drum set, and vocals. Whether you’re passionate about jazz or just delving into this vibrant genre, the Jazz Band offers a supportive community where you can expand your musical horizons. Members will explore jazz theory, techniques, and styles, as well as improvisation and American music history. By playing together as an ensemble, you’ll gain valuable performance experience, boost your confidence, and connect with fellow musicians who share your love for jazz. Join us and enjoy playing everything from the timeless tunes of Duke Ellington to the latest pop-jazz hits!

Ages
Ages 14+, with experience
Adult students must provide clearances.
Prerequisite: Intermediate proficiency in the instrument. Must be able to read sheet music, play in a group setting, and play one or two major scales.
Tuition
$80 per month
+$25 annual group registration fee*
