We are pleased to share that several CMS students are participating in their schools’ musicals this spring:
Maanya Gope is in 7th grade at Springhouse Middle School and studies voice with Julia Walsh and viola with Carolyn Gaul at CMS. She will be playing ‘Pigtails’, in the SMS production of “Newsies, Jr.”. “Pigtails” is a Manhattan Newsie and friend of the protagonist of the story, Jack Kelly. Maanya’s favorite song of the production is ‘Once And For All’ because of its strong harmonies that build a sense of empowerment and challenge her vocal range. The show runs Thursday, March 2, at 7:00 pm, Friday, March 3, at 7:00 pm, Saturday, March 4, at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, March 5, at 2:00 pm. CMS students Zuri Wilson and Haadi Matin are also in the show. Get tickets for “Newsies, Jr.” here.
Alexis Gabay-Ratner is in 6th grade at Lower Macungie Middle School and studies voice with Julia Walsh here at CMS. She will be playing ‘Molly’ in the LMMS production of “Annie”. Alexis shared that “I love that I get to renew my theater experience and be more connected with my school and community. I am also incredibly happy to show on the stage what I have learned at CMS.” The show will run on March 23, at 7:00 PM, March 24, at 7:00 PM, and on March 25, at 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM.
