CMS students who participated in our 2024 Music and Film Lab summer camp had their short film “Delivery” accepted into the third annual Allentown Film Festival, which was held April 10-13, 2025. Students Effie Toole, Annika Schreiner, Noah Schreiner, and their families were on hand to watch the premiere of their film on the big screen at Civic Theatre on Thursday, April 10, as part of the Lehigh Valley K-12 STUDENT Competition Finalists & Shorts. At the conclusion of the screenings, Festival Director Alan Younkin invited the student directors on stage to share insights about each of their films. Effie represented the CMS Music & Film Camp team and shared that their goal was to make a film that was very much music centric, so that the music could tell the story.
Under the direction of our resident sound engineer, Joe Wagner, and professional filmmaker, Matt Spade, these students learned the basics of composing and recording film scores using the state-of-the-art audio and video recording studio at CMS. The 4-minute film was shot and edited during the two weeks of the CMS camp. “Delivery” follows a young courier as he overcomes distractions by listening to music while delivering a package and features guest appearances by our very own Executive Director Jeff Reed and teacher Joe Wagner.
The 2025 Allentown Film Festival featured 120 films selected from nearly 850 films submitted by filmmakers around the world. We congratulate students Annika, Noah, Effie, and Ella on this great honor! Learn more about the Allentown Film Festival.
