Singer/Songwriter Alex Radus and IceHouse Performing Arts Collaborative present a community-based celebration of original, locally grown music on Friday, May 26
Original music from the greater Lehigh Valley region will take the spotlight at the IceHouse in Bethlehem, PA on Friday, May 26. The concert will feature a triple header of some of the region’s best singer/songwriters, in a uniquely artist-led venue. Regional favorites Alex Radus Band, Regina Sayles Band and Joe Cirotti Trio will perform an eclectic mix of original Americana, folk, country, swing, and more.
The performance is also being held in partnership with Community Music School (CMS), a Lehigh Valley-based non-profit whose mission is to make high-quality music education accessible to all, including talented students under 18 with family financial need.
The unique event is just one of over 100 shows and workshop programs featuring over 300 local artists that will take the IceHouse stage in the coming year – an opportunity provided by the IceHouse Performing Arts Collaborative in partnership with the City of Bethlehem.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the IceHouse’s ‘artist-led’ programming this year,” says organizer and singer/songwriter, Alex Radus. “It’s rare for artists to be able to build an event according to their vision, and I’m grateful to the IceHouse and the City of Bethlehem for the opportunity. We will be featuring original singer/songwriters who are working regularly in our region and beyond and really making an impact on the local scene.”
The concert will also highlight the important work of Community Music School (CMS). For over 40 years, CMS has made music education and performance opportunities accessible to young artists regardless of their families’ ability to pay full tuition. 50% of CMS students under 18 receive financial aid and scholarships to enroll in private music lessons, group classes, and performing ensembles. Concert-goers will have the option of making a donation to support financial aid for CMS students when they purchase advance tickets, as well as at the concert itself.
“I was inspired by the IceHouse’s vision for a community-centric art space, and I wanted the concert to have a concrete element of community outreach,” says Radus. “Music instruction had a really positive impact on me as a child, and so involving CMS was the perfect fit.”
“Whether you’re a regular supporter of the Lehigh Valley original music scene—or you just want to hear something off the beaten path—this concert is not to be missed!”
Alex Radus is known as a “sultry crooner” (City Paper) and “master guitarist” (Courier News), but his songwriting takes center stage, pairing whimsical and poignant storytelling with a genre-bending mix of Americana, swing, blues, folk and more. In constant search of truth in her lyrics along her musical journey, Regina Sayles’ acoustic-driven, singer/songwriter melodies connect you to the everyday human condition. As a vocal chameleon, Regina belts and croons to the center of life’s heart strings. Unapologetic for who she is, Sayles is an active advocate for women and the LGBTQ+ communities through her music and stage performances. Regina has released two solo Eps, It’s Home and The Ann Street Session. In addition to singing 100+ live shows a year, Sayles has had the opportunity to open for female folk pioneer Tret Fure, Folk icon Ani DiFranco, and played as a featured artist on the 2019 Melissa Etheridge Cruise. When she’s not playing solo, she can be found joining the Craig Thatcher Band as a featured vocalist. In January 2023, Regina released her single, “Rollin’ in the Hay,” her first solo single release in ten years! Regina will be releasing an EP of new music in the upcoming year.

The Joe Cirotti Trio is a well-oiled string band from the shadows of Northwest Jersey’s Appalachian ridge. In 2015, Joe Cirotti, Mike Alexander, and Pete Lister’s respective multi instrumentalist upbringings fused with a collective passion for the roots of American folk, country, and bluegrass music. In this way the trio’s bond is rooted in proximity, strengthened by a blue-collar passion for picking, and buoyed by their shared propensity for cigarettes and whiskey.
