Statement of Purpose
To provide high-quality, accessible music instruction and performance for all persons with a desire to learn: the talented, the hobbyist, the musically curious, the disabled, and the disadvantaged.
To ensure that no serious student is denied the opportunity to study because of gender, race, creed, national origin, or lack of funds, since CMS determines tuition on a sliding scale, based on family income.
To maintain a fully qualified faculty that is always sensitive to an individual student’s musical abilities and learning needs.
To foster an atmosphere that encourages love of music, delight in creative expression, and satisfaction from progressive accomplishment through diligent practice.
To offer a wide variety of musical experiences and opportunities for collaboration with others.
The vision of Community Music School is to be the school of choice for quality music education in the twenty-first century.
