CMS Recital Code of Conduct
We believe that performance is an important part of becoming a well-rounded
musician and encourage students of all abilities to participate. CMS offers all
students numerous opportunities to perform, once the student is ready to do so.
These opportunities include both in-house recitals as well as performances in the
community. To participate in a recital, students should discuss the opportunity
with their teacher.

Code of Conduct for CMS Recitals & Performances
• Students should dress appropriately for a performance.
• Please do not wear jeans, denim, shorts, or tank tops.
• Students should arrive by the posted time to warm up.
• Audience members should silence all cell phones and refrain from talking
and entering/exiting the hall during the performance.
• Photography/video recording of your student is permitted. Please respect
other performers and audience members.
• A reception is held following each of our in-house recitals. Families are
encouraged to bring additional refreshments for the reception.

Instruments for Sale or Rent

CMS offers a limited selection of instruments for rent by CMS students on a first-come, first served basis. Many of these instruments have been donated by generous members of the community and are available only to students currently studying at CMS.

Scholarship & Education Opportunities

Check the bulletin board in the front office or this page regularly for music-related scholarship and additional educational opportunities.

  • Gala Auditions & Recital - Each spring, CMS teachers recommend a limited number of high-performing students for an audition before an independent panel of judges, who evaluate their musical performance using predetermined criteria. Students with the highest scores are invited to perform in the year-end GALA recital and may receive merit-based scholarships toward continued study at CMS.
